Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer
Job Type: Fulltime/Onsite
Location: Abu Dhabi
Note: this position is for our client, and they are located in Abu Dhabi
Responsibilities:
- Distribute the Desktops & Laptops to client's users as per the assigned plan and do the data migration from existing Desktops/laptops to new unit's onsite.
- Manage & support client's end-user desktop hardware (including desktop computers and printers) and standard desktop applications (including Microsoft office applications, virus protection, and network security)
- Provide support assistance for resolving issues assigned by the Helpdesk in coordination with the internal team.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, Scanners, and other end-user peripherals.
- Create alternative methods of completing tasks, software deployments, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function.
- Responsible to maintain inventory of all Desktop equipment's & Peripherals and Participate in hardware and software inventories.
- Work with hardware and software vendors to follow-up with the reported issues.
- Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, rcomputer conferencing systems, application severs and administrative systems.
- Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences and procedures for upgrades.
- Monitor the performance of the client's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency.
- Troubleshooting of hardware and software for PCs & Peripherals. And upgrade of PC hardware components such as increase of memory or hard disk size.
- Upgrade of operating systems and applications such as Windows, Office and other client's applications.
- Support resources to have knowledge and technical understanding of infrastructure Servers, Operations Systems, Web Applications, Databases, Network, and End Point Security.

Skills
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor in computer science, engineering or equivalent required
- Should have Microsoft Certified IT Professional or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification.
- 6+ years of experience in an IT Desktop Support position providing L1/L2 support in any large Enterprise & Government Organization.
- Must possess hands on experience in managing desktop deployment and software distribution solutions.
- Broad range of Desktop, Notebook, Tablets and IP telephony knowledge, having knowledge on Network and Microsoft technologies will be an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of standard desktop applications and operation systems, especially regarding Microsoft office applications, adobe products, and windows operating systems
- Knowledge of Desktop management solution, anti-virus and security systems, and backup systems.
