Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Carries out scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance under supervisor guidelines and direction.
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of plant machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Immediate response and action to Supervisors inquiry/requests at any given time
Maximizing time by performing maintenance activities (e.g. documenting procedures, housekeeping, familiarization with manuals, etc.)
Completion of tasks, including checklist and reliable reporting in OCEN, as assigned.
Effective and accurate resolutions (closeouts) to plant maintenance work orders.
Submission of one new documented and approved maintenance procedures and review/update of one
Submission of work-improvement related suggestions.
Complete attendance on HSE and other required trainings.
Contribute and assist in the conduct of in-house assigned trainings per quarter.
Ensure that information and directives are clearly relayed to the Craftsman.
Communicates honest and objective feedback to the Supervisor re craftsman's performance during appraisal period.
Ensures accuracy of information/feedback about work order status.
Zero conflict situations with buddy-craftsman and fellow technician.
Provides assistance to the 2 other Maintenance sections, as required.
Exhibits initiative in using available resources (i.e. manuals, drawings, etc.)
At least 5 years related work experience in power, construction or industrial plant involving maintenance of electrical equipment for medium voltage motors, transformers, switch gears, breakers and controls.
Skills in using electrical test and measuring instruments and equipment, analyzing electrical equipment breakdowns, motor rewinding skills.
