Job Description
Overview: As the Program Management Warehousing Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of warehousing operations within the organization's programs. You will manage the end-to-end warehousing processes, including inventory management, storage optimization, and distribution logistics, to ensure efficient and cost-effective handling of goods and materials. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to streamline warehousing operations, enhance inventory visibility, and meet program objectives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures for warehousing operations, aligning with program objectives, budgetary constraints, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and targets to measure and evaluate warehousing performance, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and cycle time.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee the inventory management process, including receipt, storage, tracking, and issuance of goods and materials, to ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize stockouts and overages.
- Implement inventory control measures, such as cycle counting, ABC analysis, and stock rotation, to optimize inventory turnover, reduce carrying costs, and prevent obsolescence.
- Storage Optimization:
- Optimize warehouse layout, shelving configurations, and storage systems to maximize space utilization, minimize handling costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement teams and vendors to assess storage requirements, forecast inventory needs, and plan for seasonal fluctuations or demand spikes.
- Distribution Logistics:
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders and program requirements.
- Coordinate with transportation providers, carriers, and freight forwarders to optimize transportation routes, modes, and delivery schedules while minimizing costs and lead times.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the warehousing operations, leveraging technology, data analytics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lead cross-functional teams in process mapping, root cause analysis, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and safety in warehousing activities.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements, performance expectations, and service level requirements.
- Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including program managers, procurement teams, and end users, to understand their warehousing needs and priorities and provide responsive support.
