Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our team in Illinois and Texas. The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background in fiber optic systems and components.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables according to project specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with single and ribbon splicing
  • Experienced in using different brands of splicing machines including Fujikura.
  • Proven experience in preparing and installation of different nodes/ enclosures.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
  • Assist in the planning and design of fiber optic installations.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on fiber optic installations.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology.



Skills

Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical Certification in fiber optic technology or a related field (preferred).
  • 2-3 years of Proven experience in fibre optic installations, splicing, and testing.
  • Familiarity with fibre optic tools, equipment, and testing procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various locations as needed.
  • - Mechanical knowledge to perform equipment repairs
  • Record and report all record changes immediately
  • Ensure that he/she and all employees comply with proper safety standards/ procedures and work practices according to OSHA standards, Future Infrastructure, and/or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
  • 16. Able to participate in on-call rotation.
  • 17. Must be able to read, understand, and update splice documentation and maps as required
  • . Construct a splice case, including but not limited to bounding, slack storage, and sealing.
  • Driving valid license is required , Experience driving bucket trucks and thriller
