Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating pipes, tanks, and structural steel components to meet project specifications. The role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks on pipes, tanks, and steel structures using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete welding projects accurately.
- Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
- Inspect welds to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform structural and pressure testing of welded components when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Identify and report any material or equipment issues to supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Welder, particularly with pipes, tanks, and steel structures.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of welding processes for various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Experience in fabricating and fitting components before welding.
- Familiarity with tools such as grinders, saws, and cutting torches.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in fabrication shops, construction sites, or industrial facilities.
- May involve exposure to heat, noise, dust, and fumes.
- Requires the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or apprenticeship in welding is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in welding pipes, tanks, or steel structures.

Proficiency in Welding Techniques
- Expertise in MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), Stick (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
- Knowledge of welding processes specific to carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation

Weld Quality Inspection
- Ability to inspect welds for defects such as cracks, undercut, and porosity.
- Familiarity with testing methods, such as pressure testing, X-ray inspection, or ultrasonic testing (UT).
Safety and Compliance
- Understanding of workplace safety protocols, including OSHA standards.
- Proficiency in using personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining safe work environments.
Knowledge of Welding Standards
- Familiarity with standards such as AWS (American Welding Society) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
- Certification in welding processes (e.g., 6G pipe welding, pressure vessel welding) is a strong advantage.
Pipe Welding Expertise
- Skilled in welding pipes with varying diameters and thicknesses, including butt welds, socket welds, and fillet welds.
- Ability to work with both high- and low-pressure systems.
Tank Welding Expertise
- Knowledge of tank construction and repair, including vertical and horizontal welding techniques.
Problem-Solving in Field Conditions
- Ability to troubleshoot and address fit-up issues, material misalignment, or welding defects on-site.
