About the job Weighbridge Clerk/Helper
1.1 Job Scope Summary
The Weighbridge oversees all waste movement on and off sites and ensures that waste is handled and received in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legislation. Coordinate all transactional data related waste inputs to the facility, as well as outgoing products sent for reprocessing and ensure the welfare and safety of all operatives working in the team and make sure that all work is carried out in full compliance with health, safety, welfare, and environmental regulatory requirements.
1.2 Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the operation of the weighbridge and accompanying general administrative duties including recording weights, and waste type by vehicle, whilst ensuring completion of the appropriate documentation in line with regional Environmental Regulations
- Aid both the commercial team and the Operations Manager in accurately recording all inboud and outbound transactions for reporting purposes
- Perform duties in a safe and controlled manner to prevent accidents and environmental incidents, with particular focus on following the approved safe systems of work
- Report all Near Misses, Incidents, Safety and Environmental concerns using the company reporting system
- Responsible for all Duty of Care (DoC) matters pertaining to waste control requirements
- Maintain housekeeping standards in area of responsibility
- Ensure that all waste is handled and received in accordance with the company procedures and legislation
- Ensure that all equipment checks are carried out on daily basis and maintained in a proper working condition, and defects are reported in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS INFOR)
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Record and maintain all weighbridge transactions, identify what normal looks like and establish the norm as a baseline of waste movements in region
- Setup and configure all suppliers, haulers, vehicles, and drivers in the weighbridge system
- Managing all tonnage information and statistics
- Manage the quality control of all incoming waste whilst adhering to the Waste Acceptance Procedure, including waste carriers details, quarantining of vehicles and emergency situations
- Coordinate all waste input movements with the Tipping Floor Team
- Conduct site inductions for all new drivers
- Build a working relationship with waste authority representatives
- Develop the role to add value to the business
- Contribute to the site contractual KPIs
Key Relationships
- External: Customer & SPV, including key stakeholders, as well as Delivery drivers
- Internal: Tipping Floor Attendants, Administration Team, Commercial Team, Operations Team, and Management Team

1.3 Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
1.4 Job Experience and skills
- 2+ years of general working experience
- Familiar with Health, Safety & Environmental standards, procedures, and requirements
- Industry experience would be beneficial
