Job Summary:
The Warehouse & Distribution Manager will lead all aspects of warehouse operations and distribution logistics, focusing on inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and last-mile delivery to ensure seamless service for retail and e-commerce customers. This role requires a strategic thinker with operational expertise to optimize workflows, manage delivery performance, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in retail or e-commerce supply chain management, proven experience in last-mile logistics, and the ability to leverage technology and process improvements
Job Description:
1. Warehouse Operations Management:
o Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching to ensure efficient operations and timely order processing.
o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, enforcing compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
o Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of outgoing orders, reducing errors and damages.
2. Inventory and Stock Control:
o Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to optimize availability, reduce stockouts, and avoid overstocking.
o Perform regular cycle counts and stock audits to maintain high inventory accuracy, using WMS and other inventory management systems.
o Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce shrinkage, improve data accuracy, and ensure stock availability aligns with demand.
3. Order Fulfillment & Customer Experience:
o Ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment processes, focusing on speed, accuracy, and on-time dispatch for both retail and e-commerce channels.
o Implement best practices to reduce order processing times, minimize errors, and increase customer satisfaction through timely, reliable service.
o Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve order-related issues promptly, addressing customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
4. Distribution and Last-Mile Delivery Management:
o Coordinate and manage last-mile delivery operations to guarantee timely delivery to customers, optimizing routes and logistics costs with third-party partners.
o Negotiate and manage contracts with delivery vendors, ensuring SLAs are met and delivery standards align with company expectations.
o Track delivery performance metrics, address any logistical bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce lead times.
5. Process Optimization and Technology Utilization:
o Identify and implement process improvements across warehouse and distribution operations to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
o Leverage technology, such as WMS, RFID, and barcode systems, to enhance data accuracy, streamline operations, and improve visibility.
o Regularly analyze KPIs such as order accuracy, picking/packing times, and delivery lead times, driving continuous improvement in line with company goals.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and distribution teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and productivity.
o Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching and training to support staff growth and maintain high operational standards.
o Ensure team compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations, prioritizing a safe and compliant work environment.
7. Vendor and Supplier Relationship & Reverse Logistic Management:
o Build and sustain strong relationships with delivery and logistics providers, working to optimize service quality, reduce costs, and enhance delivery flexibility.
o Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, addressing any service issues and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
RequirementsQualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in warehouse and distribution management, ideally in retail operation.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems, WMS, and ERP platforms.
• Solid understanding of warehouse operations, distribution logistics, and last-mile delivery processes.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate teams in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in warehouse and logistics operations.
