VP Engineering (crypto industry experience required)

Hiring for a large crypto-currency company in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and direct the engineering department's strategy, goals, and initiatives in line with the company's broader business objectives.
  
• Lead and scale the engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, and managing a diverse and talented group of software engineers and developers.
  
• Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering delivers effective solutions that meet product and market needs.
  
• Ensure the development of robust, secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure and applications adhering to best practices in software architecture and design.
  
• Foster an environment that encourages innovation and calculated risk-taking while maintaining a focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
  
• Oversee the engineering budget, ensuring resources are allocated optimally and efficiently.
  
• Drive continuous improvements in agile practices, software development processes, and technology standards.
  
• Remain current with emerging trends and technological advancements in the blockchain and cryptocurrency domains.
  
• Engage with key stakeholders within and outside the company, including presenting technological strategies and updates to the board of directors.
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with significant professional experience in software development and engineering leadership.
  
• Extensive knowledge of blockchain technologies, decentralized systems, and the cryptocurrency industry.
  
• Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and drive results.
  
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for inspiring and motivating teams.
  

Desirable Experience:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with specific exposure to blockchain or fintech industries.
  
• A track record of successful product launches that demonstrate innovation, quality, and scalability.
  
• Experience with DevOps processes, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and distributed system architecture.
  
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory conditions affecting the cryptocurrency market.
