Job Description

Job Summary:


The Virtual Relationship Manager (VRM) will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of SME and Business Banking clients through remote engagement. The VRM will provide proactive relationship management, drive sales of banking products, and deliver an excellent customer experience through digital and telephonic interactions.


Key Responsibilities:


Financials:


Achieve set financial KPI’s for the financial year (on a monthly/quarterly basis) through FX, Trade & deposit/CASA growth.


Cross-sell and upsell business banking products, including accounts, loans, trade finance, merchant solutions.


Monitor the credit exposure and manage risk within the assigned portfolio.


Client Relationship Management:


Develop and maintain strong relationships with business banking clients via virtual channels (calls, emails, video meetings, and digital platforms).


Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business clients, addressing their banking needs, queries, and service requests efficiently.


Ensure timely follow-ups and proactive client engagement to drive retention and satisfaction.


Portfolio Growth and Management:


Ensure scoping of existing portfolio & subsequently grow as per the agreed KPI’s by the monthly & quarterly.


Actively identify opportunities for portfolio growth by cross selling and upselling banking products.


Continuously monitor the financial performance of clients and suggest adjustments to support their growth.


Monitor client accounts and transactions to identify potential risks, early warning signs, or business opportunities.


Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, KYC guidelines, and internal policies.


Collaboration:


Collaborate with other business units, such as retail banking, corporate banking, and risk management, to leverage synergies, cross-selling opportunities & ensure seamless transactional banking experience for all SME clients.


Compliance and Risk Management:


Monitor the credit exposure and manage risk within the assigned portfolio


Ensure all RFI’s & EDD queries are handled well within the timelines without tipping of the client.


Market Intelligence:


Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics affecting SMEs.


Use market intelligence to identify opportunities for business expansion and product development.


Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, sales activities, and market trends.


Provide management with insights and recommendations for portfolio improvement.


Key Skills:


In-depth knowledge of financial products and services relevant to SMEs and relationship-building skills.


Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.


Strategic thinking and the ability to drive innovation in financial solutions for SMEs.


Professional certifications in banking or finance would be an advantage


Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics affecting SMEs.


Qualifications Essential:


Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field


Extensive experience in SME banking or commercial banking (Min. 3 Yrs. as SME Relationship Manager), with a proven record of accomplishment of success in portfolio growth and management.


Qualifications Essential:


MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.


Language:


Good communication skills both oral and written in English (Arabic is an advantage).
