About the role:


In Mott MacDonald, we have a digital delivery team focused on providing digital leadership on projects, producing BIM execution plans, overseeing and leading the BIM delivery, digital quality checks and digital integration to ensure the requirements of ISO 19650 are complied with. We are looking for a Digital Innovation Lead to drive a strategy aiming to elevate our offering in various sectors, particularly in the land development, primary infrastructure, construction supervision, and buildings markets. This will enable us to better respond to our existing clients challenges and position us as leaders in implementing advanced technologies on our projects in a more efficient and innovative manner.  


Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:


This role is critical in advancing our digital capabilities, and will focus on the following key areas;


Drive a strategy aiming to elevate our offering in various sectors. In the first 12 months, the role will particularly focus on the land development, primary infrastructure, construction supervision and buildings services.


Develop and grow the team to embed innovation in projects


Collaborate with the Digital Delivery practice to support any digital upskilling initiatives


Promote collaboration and the effective use of our central digital function across projects


Elevate our bid proposals by embedding digital excellence


Implement digital advancements in project delivery with a focus on;


  • Integrating machine learning and AI into project delivery to drive efficiency and innovation 
  • Developing and implementing generative design techniques to optimize engineering, across markets 
  • Supporting the scripting community across the unit to foster a culture of automation 
  • Leading the development of project dashboards, with a particular emphasis on construction supervision site offices 
  • Deploying data science solutions to enhance project decision making and performance
  • Leveraging virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) to enhance project delivery and stakeholders engagement 
  • Identifying opportunities for parametric and computational design to streamline and optimize project design workflows. 
  • Exploring and leading Digital Twin technologies for existing assets, especially for key clients
  • Monitoring advancements in construction robotics in our region and advising on adaptation to our delivery model to be prepared for this transition
  • Explore the utilization of earth observation tools in our project delivery 

Candidate specifications:


  • Good understanding of the engineering, construction and infrastructure sector specific to the Mott MacDonald business unit for which you are applying - its business models, market trends, competitive landscape; 


  • Familiarity with contemporary digital trends, and ability to horizon-scan, translating abstract digital futures into real-world business threats and opportunities (ideation) 


  • Ability to build advocacy for the role of digital technology in business delivery across diverse groups; including nurturing stakeholder relations up to Unit GM level to win buy-in to the digital change agenda 


  • Track record of successful digital business transformation in a similar leadership role
