Organization Unit Purpose


RCO handles end-to-end processing for EI/ENBD Retail products such as Personal Finance, Auto Finance, Home Finance Operations and Credit Cards. 


Job Purpose


  • To underwriter and process Auto Loan PILS & Cards applications source by Emirates NBD direct sales force, branches and other channels.
  • To review a customer application to determine the potential of a customer to pay against a loan or credit card based on their income and current existing liabilities. Applying ENBD current policies to determine the feasibility of loan request and safeguard Bank’s interest by ensuring prudent lending.

Job Responsibilities


Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting loans for Self Employed, Company and Salaried Customer within Emirates NBD and UAE Central Bank guidelines.  
Dependent on division and complexity of underwriting, functions may include: 


  • Reviewing bank/financials statements, credit reports, scrutinize documents. 
  • Examining transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparing formal reports for escalation to GRC / CBU / CLC / Compliance
  • Review of third-party checks – Business verification reports.
  • Implementing fraud detection techniques, performing compliance reviews.
  • Assisting with re-negotiations of loans based on lending guidelines.
  • liaising with Sales for clarification regarding applications
  • Marking errors made by processors – Instead – “Identification of errors or omission in data processing”
    Attend to requirements of Audit and Compliance & GRC
  • Handle Reject review sessions with Sales Managers on weekly basis.
  • Act as a referral point for escalation / credit reviews / inputs to Business teams
  • Coaching of team members in credit policies.
  • Work in partnership with team captain to manage team performance to achieve team and unit goals.

Person Specifications


Education


  • Graduate with banking experience 

Skills / Work Experience


  • Must have experience in Stakeholder, Team handling and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem identification and solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Core system functions.
  • Reading and understanding of Arabic documentation will be an added advantage. 
  • Ability to work under pressure along with good time management skills and adherence to deadlines.
  • Prior 2 years of underwriting experience with authority to approve facilities in a bank or NBFC in retail lending environment.
