Job Description

Job Purpose:


The Trainee Underwriter will support the underwriting team in assessing and evaluating risks for individual and group health insurance policies. This role is designed to develop the trainee’s skills and knowledge in underwriting, enabling them to contribute effectively to the team and grow within the company.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating risks for potential clients to determine coverage needs and premium costs.


  • Work closely with senior underwriters to learn the principles and practices of underwriting.


  • Prepare and review underwriting documentation and reports.


  • Support the underwriting team in maintaining accurate records and databases.


  • Communicate with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for risk assessment.


  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance underwriting knowledge and skills.


  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.


Qualifications:
  • Must be a UAE National.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.


  • Eagerness to learn and develop a career in underwriting.
