Job Description
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to deliver Cloud Engineering services to Rackspace’s Enterprise and SME clients. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on technical skills, with the experience and consulting skills to understand, shape, and deliver against our customers’ requirements.
Responsibilities
- Implement cloud solutions that are secure, scalable, resilient, monitored, auditable, and cost-optimized.
- Managing and supporting ticket queues of various clients and maintaining the SLA.
- Escalation to appropriate task manager of inappropriate work task requests or requirements.
- Leveraging personal subject matter expertise, and working closely with peers, the role will be accountable for delivering quality support in a client-facing role. You’ll be the voice of Rackspace within the customer.
- Support 24X7 environment with long-term or permanent shifts if applicable.
- Support the creation of relevant documentation around the cloud implementations.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Fresh Graduates to candidates up to 1 year of experience may apply.
- Should know the basics of one major public cloud i.e. Azure/AWS/GCP.
- Strong communication skills.
- Help monitor cloud-based systems for availability, performance, reliability, security, etc. using cloud-native or external tooling.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of PowerShell/Shell/Python scripting.
- Install operating systems, and application software in cloud computing environments and patching.
- Basic knowledge of network, and awareness of cloud network patterns such as Virtual Networks, subnets, peering, firewalls, etc.
- Candidates with knowledge of automation tools such as Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, Ansible, or similar will be preferred.
