Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fuel, oil, lights, brakes, and other essential systems.
Adhere to traffic and safety regulations and follow all company policies regarding vehicle operation and cargo handling.
Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Plan routes effectively and use GPS or maps to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate logs of working hours, rest periods, and distance traveled, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and supervisors regarding delivery schedules, delays, and any issues that arise.
Conduct minor vehicle repairs when necessary or report maintenance needs promptly.
Skills
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the type of trailer operated, with a clean driving record.
