The Mission & Objectives of the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward thinking, commercially astute candidate to step into a managerial trading role, overseeing media buying across GroupM agencies in the MENA region. The investment side of the job will see the successful candidate overseeing all audits, large scale negotiation, pricing and trading deals at a GroupM level, working in partnership with Regional Trading leads within the agencies, while also being a part of GroupM’s broader Trading & Investment Community.
Reporting to: This role will report into GroupM Buying Director and will have a high level of interaction with all members of the agency teams.

About the Team: The Investment team works across all clients in the agency and oversees all commercial, auditing and pricing aspects of the accounts. The successful candidate would be part of a team of strong investment and trading senior executives and professionals.
Measures of success – In three months: · A good understanding of GroupM Trading Strategy and the Trading products and pillars in the Group; · Developed a strong connection & relationship with GroupM trading leads, and agency personnel · Regularly provide sound analyses of reports to support business decisions.
In six months: · Met all key Media Partners and be managing our commercial partnerships with these businesses. · Having a regular dialogue with all key stakeholders internally · Started driving and implementing comprehensive Trading Strategy in line with the central MENA trading strategy, including inventory and data. In 12 months: · Successfully enhanced the trading efficiencies across all clients. · Delivered on client savings and group internal trading targets.
Key responsibilities of the role: · Negotiating and optimizing client deals to ensure GM clients benefit from the most efficient deals in the market. This includes ensuring all pitch rates are achieved. · Maintain a strong relationship with all vendors, even those not investing with. · Support in client meetings and presentations related to media buying. · Track by client all savings achieved on a campaign basis. · Support on quarterly investment reviews for both clients and the group. · Support in the negotiation of partnerships and JBPs for the Group and clients separately. · Support Investment team on corporate and client investment strategies with any data and insights required, including Savings and planning parameters. · Manage overall forecast across all vendors and ensure updated commitments are communicated with agencies once forecast is assessed and reviewed. · Monitor the Group’s commitments on a quarterly basis . · Participate in all RFPs and pitches for new businesses. · Create media scenes across MENA markets and share POVs on all new market trends and hot topics. · Liaising with the local trading leads in different regional markets to better service their clients from a trading perspective and to ensure all regional markets are aligned on the investment strategy and goals. · Communicating deals, opportunities and commitments with the agency teams, and working closely with all teams to deliver on those commitments whilst driving more value to clients.
Experience Required: · Minimum 5 years of experience in Media Buying. · Deep understanding of all media including digital · Must be able to work within and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, must be very capable to deal with data software, mining, contracting, spreadsheets, reporting, negotiations and general management · Negotiations, intermediate to advanced excel, excellent written and communication skills · Completely hands on with the deal structuring, how to approach negotiations, standard SOPs for the clients etc. · Work independently with minimal supervision, must be very capable to deal with data software, mining, contracting, spreadsheets, reporting, negotiations and general management · Well-organized and flexible, and enjoy supporting the needs of the Head of Investment Services and the department · Must have very strong written and verbal communications skills, advanced excel and power point capability, strong supportive attitude, obsessive attention to detail, and a high comfort level dealing with financial tasks, numbers and data mining · Highly passionate, collaborative and solution oriented · Excellent communication and presentation skills. · Ability to ensure that the opportunity pipeline is made robust along with strict plans for roll outs. · Ensure all details and accuracy in all submissions and workings.
