Job Description
The Engineering Projects department specializes in evaluating, specifying, and negotiating new and used aircraft acquisitions. We oversee the entire process, from initial evaluation and assembly inspection to final delivery and acceptance.
We develop detailed specifications for aircraft and new system installations, including Passenger Entertainment and Connectivity Services (IFE) and Cabin Interiors. Our team ensures that all regulatory requirements, safety standards, functionality, and maintainability are met for each aircraft's entry into service.
As a Technical Specialist Draftsman, you will provide visual representations of cabin configurations for use by Engineers to manage the design of new or changed cabin interiors, through the use of Pace Lab Ad, AutoCad and relevant Engineering design software. To proactively participate in the exploration and development of new work processes, using new IT tools and digital data as appropriate.
In this role, you will:
- Initiate, compile and analyse data in digital format for Engineers during the course of aircraft equipment evaluations. Assist Engineers in the processing of product technical specifications, product presentations, evaluation reports and finalisation.
- Assist Engineers in data compilation during the course of specification evaluation and process various features/ options related to aircraft and equipment. Conduct Engineering studies and approach problems solving through data collection, performing field studies and generating visual aids that include technical drawings.
- Familiarize with various aircraft technical documentations such as Drawing, Integrated Parts Catalogue, Component Maintenance Manual, in order to research for technical information.
- Translate ideas into aircraft cabin floor plans of interior arrangement by providing 2D and 3D presentations using AutoCAD or any other Engineering design software.
- Develop the capability of Engineering Projects in 3D presentations by creating 3D models of cabin furnishings and equipment that relates to EK fleet. Be able to generate 3D Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA's) from the use of these models. Provide LOPA design changes in AutoCAD, Pace lab and 3D software as necessary.
- Develop concepts and methods to improve process and information efficiency within the project group in order to deal with the expansion of Fleet types and increase in the number of aircraft. In addition, explore ways to exploit the use of manufacturers data.
- Build and maintain templates of LOPA databases of Cabin interior elements that are used on existing fleet using relevant Engineering design software in order to assist for future aircraft specifications.
- Be able to individually handle any assigned project/ follow-up until successful completion, and carry out Engineering Procedures Manual updates.
