Job Description
• Draftsman following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
• Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering / production team.
• Creating drawings based on verbal instructions from a project manager or engineer.
• Explaining technical concepts to clients during meetings with clients or other team members.
• Using computer-aided drafting software to create drawings.
• Checking drawings for accuracy and repairing any errors found.
• Maintaining detailed records of work performed and materials used in each project. Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Development:
• Collaborate with event planners, creative teams, and clients to understand design concepts and requirements.
• Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings for exhibitions, booths, and event setups using CAD software.
2. Technical Drafting:
• Produce accurate architectural and engineering drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and venue requirements.
3. Material Specification:
• Specify materials and finishes for various elements of the design, ensuring feasibility and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components.
4. Project Coordination:
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timelines and milestones are met.
• Attend project meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and implement feedback.
5. Installation Support:
• Provide on-site support during the setup and installation phases of events and exhibitions.
• Troubleshoot design issues and make real-time adjustments as necessary.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain organized documentation of design iterations, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders as needed.
7. Research and Innovation:
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to event design and exhibition spaces.
• Explore innovative solutions and techniques to enhance design quality and efficiency.
RequirementsQualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical drafting, preferably in events and exhibitions.
Software Proficiency:
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, CATIA, PTC Creo, Solid Edge, TurboCAD, Onshape, BricsCAD and MicroStation.
• AutoCAD: For drafting and creating detailed floor plans.
• SketchUp: For 3D modeling and visualization. Skills:
• Excellent technical drawing and drafting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Work Experience:
• The role may require working in an office setting as well as on-site at event locations.
• Flexibility in working hours may be necessary during peak event seasons.
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• Degree from a technical college also acceptable.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to respond well with a positive attitude.
• Experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CAD).
• Ability to draw manually favourable, but not essential.
