Technical Assistant (to be hired by Serco JV)


Khadamat Facilities Management LLC is a joint venture (JV) company formed to operate and provide Integrated Facilities Management Services to the new United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain.


Through focusing on and making best use of the main components of Facilities Management (People, Place, Process and Technology), Khadamat delivers a range of high-quality services to the UAE University. Our aim is to continue in what we are doing well and continuously improve.


Understanding the need to enable the University to focus on its core business (Teaching & Research), Khadamat is continuously innovating and delivering high quality services to the UAE University in line with the Project Agreement. Your Opportunity  


Khadamat are looking for a Maintenance Technical Assistant who will provide the majority of the day to day management of Fittings, Furniture & Equipment, and assist in preventive maintenance of MEP equipments throughout the campus. He will also be responsible for first line response to defects and breakdowns of a technical nature which affect availability. He will require a broad range of technical skills.


The ideal candidate should have with good communication skills experience of dealing with customers


This role is part of the Khadamat team and will be based in Al Ain, UAE.


Key Accountabilities


  • Carry out regular and routine inspections of fittings and fixtures.
  • Well versed with plumbing system particularly the installation, repairs to the PPR pipes
  • Prepare reports on condition of FF&E and submit for input to CAFM System
  • Provide first line response on all technical matters
  • Liaise with customer regularly within residential and academic buildings
  • Carry out minor repairs to FF&E
  • Arrange for replacement of FF&E equipment where damage and wear cannot be easilyrepaire
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repair minor defects in MEP Systems
  • Assist in performing preventive maintenance on MEP equipment & system
  • Attend and perform reactive and breakdown works as required

Specific Requirements


  • Broad technical experience in mechanical and electrical discipline
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs to defects in MEP systems and FF&E
  • Flexible and able to work on own initiative
  • Ensure timely reporting of inspections to CAFM
  • Excellent command of English language (written and oral)
  • Customer focused
  • Good planning ability
