About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader with a background in retail to join a dynamic team in a leading retail Company in Al Ain. The Team Leader will directly report to the Store Manager and be responsible for leading and supporting a team of store associates to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the store. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to motivate a team to achieve store goals.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Support:


  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of store associates, ensuring a high standard of customer service and store performance.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on individual strengths and skills.
  • Assist the Store Manager with training new staff and ensuring the team is up to date with store policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily team briefings to ensure clear communication and a focus on daily objectives.

2. Store Operations Management:


  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring stock levels are maintained, products are well-organized, and shelves are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Monitor store performance to meet sales targets, productivity goals, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and store policies.

3. Customer Service Excellence:


  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided by leading by example and supporting team members in addressing customer queries and complaints.
  • Train and coach staff on customer service techniques and product knowledge.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, maintaining customer satisfaction.

4. Sales and Performance Monitoring:


  • Monitor the store’s sales performance and assist the Store Manager in developing and executing sales strategies.
  • Support the team in achieving individual and store-wide sales targets.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

5. Staff Scheduling and Shift Management:


  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts and ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are maintained, especially during peak hours.
  • Coordinate break times and manage any changes to staff schedules in real time.
  • Ensure team members are punctual and meet attendance expectations.

6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:


  • Assist in ensuring the store complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure store cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
  • Follow and enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UAE retail regulations.

7. Reporting and Feedback:


  • Report directly to the Store Manager on team performance, operational issues, and sales targets.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements in store operations, customer service, and staff performance.
  • Document and report on any incidents, stock discrepancies, or employee issues in accordance with company procedures.
Requirements:

Experience:


  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a retail environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in managing teams and achieving sales goals in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Familiarity with supermarket operations and a strong understanding of retail processes.

Skills:


  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve conflicts and handle customer complaints effectively.
  • A good understanding of retail operations including inventory management and sales targets.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Retail Management or a related field is a plus.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and experience with retail management software is preferred.
