Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a well-reputed Food Manufacturing Company. Our client is looking for a dedicated Team Lead – Cage-Free Poultry Management, responsible for ensuring optimal conditions for chick rearing, implementing vaccination programs, and maintaining bio-hazard controls to achieve productivity objectives in line with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental and Sustenance Management
- Maintain strict environmental controls in the cage-free area to ensure optimal living conditions and chick growth.
- Monitor sustenance quality and quantity to achieve targeted flock weight and health.
Vaccination Implementation
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Incharge to execute vaccination schedules aimed at boosting immunity and increasing flock survivability.
Bio-hazard Management
- Enforce bio-security measures by ensuring all employees adhere to hygiene protocols and PPE usage.
- Maintain adequate supplies of foot dips, hand washes, and other bio-hazard control materials.
Manure Management
- Coordinate with the fertilizer team for daily manure removal to prevent health hazards and ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee prompt resolution of machinery issues to avoid operational delays.
Chick Transfer Coordination
- Schedule and supervise chick transfers to laying sheds, ensuring minimal stress and mortality by organizing night transport operations.
Shed Cleaning and Maintenance
- Implement thorough shed disinfection and equipment maintenance schedules post chick transfer to mitigate infection risks and ensure future flock health.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Maintain daily reports on environmental controls, mortality rates, and other critical data to identify and address potential issues early.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Agriculture Engineering, or a related field (veterinary qualification is an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cage-free poultry or breeding farms, with expertise in chick rearing and large-scale vaccination programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of bird diseases, medication planning, lab techniques, and bio-hazard control measures.
- Familiarity with ISO, HACCP standards, and HSE issues related to poultry farming.
- Proficient in computer use and reporting.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to work in remote environments.
