About the Job
Assists in the development, delivery, maintenance, assurance, improvement and management of Crisis
Emergency and Business Continuity Management Systems. Develop and risk assess scenarios related to key
services and products and identify associated resources and dependencies that support the critical processes
(internal or external) such as but not limited to the people, technologies, skills, critical suppliers or spare parts.
Assists in ensuring the state of CEBC preparedness within the Company ensure that all relevant company
standards and requirements are implemented and periodically audited for its effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Contribution:
• Assists in developing, implementing, coordinating, and administering CMBC (including Oil Spill Response) Plan for the Company in accordance with the Company Standards and requirement.
• Assists in developing long term strategy objectives and key performance indicators for areas related to CEBC including Oil Spill Response.
• Ensure Business Impact Assessments and Strategies developed for critical services and products.
Identify that associated resources and dependencies for critical processes such as but not limited to people, technologies, suppliers, or critical spare parts.
• Identify and Risk Assess single point of failures.
• Participates in developing and reviewing drill plans to address different crisis and business continuity scenarios. Reviews drill reports including Lesson Learned and follows up on recommendations as applicable.
• Ensure that business continuity plans are established based on BIAs outcomes.
• Ensure periodic reviews of Head Quarter and Facilities Emergency preparedness to determine their operational and functional capabilities in emergency situations.
• Assists in developing the Emergency Response Plan for each Business Unit covering all assets necessary for recovery.
• Provide dynamic contact between Company and Oil Spill Response Contractors.
Budget & Plans:
• Assists in the Annual Budget Planning process for the Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, Oil Spill Response, , spill kits, and track expenditures as required.
• Assists in creating and planning Disaster Recovery Budgets.
Policies, Systems and Procedures:
• Supports Team on all emergency procedures ensuring that they are compliant with risk analysis studies, safety cases, audit recommendations, feedback from exercise, drills and industry norms.
• Assists in compiling and updating Crisis Management, Oil Spill Response and Emergency procedures and maintains a document control system on all Company Emergency Response procedures.
Planning of Activities:
• Collates and organizes information that may be required during an emergency to ensure its availability if required during an exercise or actual incident.
• Facilitates and participates in Emergency Preparedness Audits of Head Quarter, Facilities and Contractor worksites.
• Manages the upkeep and updating of the Emergency Control Centre Facilities including all Communication equipment, computers, Emergency response system, reference materials etc. to ensure that all facilities are always in good working conditions.
• Maintains and updates all resource materials associated with Emergency Plans.
• Develops and reviews mitigation strategies and creates scenarios to reestablish operations in the event of business interruptions
• Reviews the business impact Analysis and Risk Assessment systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
• Develops schedules for training awareness for Business Continuity responsible parties.
• Coordinates the development of schedules for Business Continuity documentation maintenance and updates, exercises independent review and validation.
Continuous Improvement:
• Suggests opportunities for Strategic Improvement in crisis management handling or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory or industry specific change initiatives.
• Attends professional meetings, reads literature and participates in training or other educational offerings to keep updated on new developments and technologies related to Crisis Management and Business
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Disaster Management, Chemical Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering or equivalent.
