JOB PURPOSE:


Manages the planning and execution of all contracted diving services and diving activities as well as develops and maintains company diving policies and procedures to ensure compliance to applicable statutes and pursuing diving excellence.


Responsible for the provision of professional advice on all issues relevant to diving operations to ensure ultimate sound business decisions.


JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Oversees all ADNOC L&S diving operations to eliminate any hazard exposure to the dive team members, assets, business, and company status.
  • Reviews individual station diving resources’ requirements, discuss with counterparts to ensure that diving operations are conducted in accordance with company operational and safety standards.
  • Monitors installation of new diving equipment and modifications to shipboard diving systems as well as repairs in dry-docks in coordination with the concerned Technical Department personnel to ensure any alterations are in accordance with provisions of approved policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitors the renewal of ongoing certification and training of the diving personnel through regular safety drills and client-approved training courses to ensure personnel competencies in accordance with approved standards.
  • Reviews and evaluates critical diving equipment, spare parts, and consumables in coordination with operational requirements to determine effective levels of stockholdings to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Plans and organises mobilisation for operations, and training of personnel on new assignments to ensure optimum and safe performance in line with client’s scope requirements.
  • Liaises with external parties and clients, as appropriate to discuss and resolve diving and safety related issues and provide a professional technical advice concerning diving operations & HSE issues to Diving Management, clients, and port authorities to support informed decision-making process.
  • Completes annual dive system audits at all dive stations to ensure equipment is properly maintained and fully functional.
  • Ensure timely preparation of technical manuals, ensure quality documentation and records for the Diving department.
  • Responsible to develop and maintain a safety manual that includes information and procedures relating to the safety and health of the dive-team members, commercial diving standards etc. to ensure that diving operations are carried in compliance with statute provisions and pursuing diving excellence.
  • Participate and lead planning, assessment, and review of diving units’ equipment, systems, and other requirements to ensure all diving capabilities are fit for purpose with optimum performance.
  • Maintain regular contact and liaison with all Head Office and Station department heads on matters such as diving activities and diving equipment maintenance.
  • Remain abreast of all Company policies and procedures as well as national and international regulations relating to Diving safety and ensure all diving supervisors are kept duly informed of these.
  • Manage diving activities including surface and sub-sea operations for inspection and maintenance of infrastructure such as mooring assemblies, navigation systems and hosing gear to ensure these operate to their optimum level. 
  • Visit sites to discuss and monitor operational and safety issues with diving supervisors and clients.
  • Attends industry meetings to keep abreast of International & regional operational & safety issues and participates in development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to Diving Safety and present suggestions and ideas to the Company, whenever necessary, to ensure manuals and other documents are up to date to support improve safe performance in line with international practices and standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • 15 years of experience in diving operations, with minimum five (5) years in a Managerial capacity.
  • Fifteen (15) years offshore diving experience.
  • Experienced in all forms of diving operations (Air, Saturation and Surface Mixed Gas)
  • Minimum five (5) years in a Diving Operations Management capacity both on and offshore
  • Valid UAE Driver’s License

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS


  • IMCA Air Dive Supervisor Certificate (must be current)
  • IMCA recognised Saturation Diver Certificate (must be current)
  • Recognised HSE certification (i.e., IOSH, NEBOSH etc.)
  • Equivalent Industrial Certifications
  • Minimum of Offshore Surface Medical Fitness Certificate.
  • Valid H2S Awareness / Escape BA Training.
  • Offshore survival with valid Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
  • Must be able to gain CICPA for all UAE sites
