Applications are invited from outstanding drama teachers who hold a relevant degree, at least two years of teaching experience and a clear understanding of teaching at Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE and A level. We are looking for someone who blends creativity and rigour in the classroom for all learners, is highly committed and possesses excellent organisational and communication skills.
The Drama department in the Senior School is well established and characterised by a strong sense of collaboration and the pursuit of outstanding pupil progress. We strive to offer a curriculum that develops skills, creativity and offers a rich and diverse range of experiences to inspire learners. Pupils experience personalised learning experiences in small classes that are further complemented by co-curricular opportunities, including preparation for LAMDA examinations. Pupils achieve outstanding results at GCSE and A Level. Drama is taught in purpose-built studios and our state of the art theatre. The Drama Department enjoys being part of the wider Creative Arts team, including Music, Art and Drama.
The College greatly values the Performing Arts and prides itself in being a beacon for Music, Art and Drama in the city. We enjoy a purpose built theatre that enables us to showcase the arts in a professional format through regular concerts, musicals and performances. Pupils are also encouraged to develop their behind the scenes experience as well as performing on stage. We have also recently help interactive workshop events for the community to extend awareness of the importance of the creative arts in a young person’s development.
