Our trading operations cover key exchanges. The firm trades across a broad range of asset classes, including equities, equity derivatives, options, commodity futures, rates futures, etc. We employ a diverse and growing array of algorithmic trading strategies, utilizing both High-Frequency Trading (HFT) and Medium-Frequency Trading (MFT) approaches. We’ve got a team of 200+ professionals, with a strong emphasis on technology—70% are technical specialists in development, infrastructure, testing, and analytics spheres. The remaining part of the team supports our business operations, such as Risks, Compliance, Legal, Operations and more. Our employees are located all around the world, from the United States to Hong Kong. Although we maintain office spaces, we currently operate as a 100% remote organization. Job Description
We are seeking for a Tax Manager with expertise in international taxation and a deep understanding of the financial markets. This role is critical in ensuring tax compliance and optimizing tax strategies for our group entities in multiple jurisdictions, including the USA, UAE, Switzerland, the Cayman Islands, and Hong Kong.
The ideal candidate will have experience in taxation for groups involved in trading financial instruments (e.g., securities, derivatives) and cryptocurrencies. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining transfer pricing policies, managing tax implications of intellectual property (IP) creation and usage, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations across our operating markets.
The tax manager will be working closely with the Head of Finance, Legal counsel, and external advisors to ensure robust tax risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Advisory:
Manage and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations in the USA, UAE, Switzerland, Cayman Islands, and Hong Kong. Advise on tax implications of group-wide operations, including trading, revenue generation, profit distributions and business expansions into new markets.
Tax Planning and Optimization:
Develop and implement tax-efficient structures for trading activities in traditional and cryptocurrency markets. Provide detailed tax analysis and planning for income derived from financial instruments traded in Europe, the USA, India, China, Brazil, and other markets.
Transfer Pricing:
Design, implement, and maintain transfer pricing policies aligned with international guidelines. Support documentation and reporting requirements for intercompany transactions.
Project-Based Tax Strategy:
Assess and outline tax obligations for new trading markets or business lines (e.g., entering the Indian securities market). Analyze tax impacts of high-frequency trading (HFT) operations (preferred experience).
Intellectual Property (IP) Taxation:
Oversee tax implications related to the creation, ownership, and usage of intellectual property.
Managing External Service Providers and Consultants:
Identify, evaluate, and engage external tax advisors and consultants in various jurisdictions if required. Ensure the selection of cost-effective yet high-quality solutions for tax compliance and advisory services. Oversee and control the work of external service providers, ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with the company’s objectives. Continuously assess and optimize relationships with service providers to ensure value for money and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Law, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CTA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum 5+ years of experience in tax management, with a focus on multinational groups. Proven expertise in the taxation of financial instruments, derivatives, and cryptocurrencies. Solid understanding of international tax laws, including BEPS and OECD transfer pricing guidelines. Experience with tax structuring for trading businesses across multiple jurisdictions. Familiarity with high-frequency trading (HFT) and associated tax implications is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex projects.
