About the location:
What you will do:
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki, and specialty rolls, with attention to detail and presentation.
Ensure all sushi is prepared to the highest standard of quality, freshness, and taste, maintaining consistency in flavor and appearance.
Oversee the selection and preparation of fresh ingredients, including fish, rice, vegetables, and garnishes. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station, adhering to health and safety regulations and kitchen cleanliness standards.
Work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
Contribute to menu planning and development, bringing creative ideas and suggestions for new sushi dishes and presentations.
Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any special requests or dietary restrictions and providing an exceptional dining experience.
What you bring:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
Proficient in sushi preparation techniques, including filleting fish, rolling sushi, and handling sushi knives. Strong attention to detail and artistic presentation skills.
Thorough understanding of Japanese cuisine and traditional sushi preparation methods. Familiarity with health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred but not required.
