Job Description
The Survey Manager will support the different projects across the GCC and oversee all surveying activities on-site, ensuring precise measurements, data collection, and mapping to support engineering and construction operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Support the site teams in developing and implementing detailed survey plans in alignment with project requirements and timelines. Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely survey data.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation to produce accurate site layouts, topographical maps, and as-built records.
- Ensure all survey work meets project and industry standards, conducting regular checks and quality control. This includes audits on site and training of surveyors.
- Lead and mentor a team of surveyors and technicians and assign these to the different projects of BESIX in the GCC, providing guidance on technical aspects and maintaining safety and quality protocols on-site.
- Manage and maintain the survey equipment of the company, ensuring accuracy and functionality, and oversee the procurement of necessary tools and technology.
- Prepare and present survey reports and maintain thorough records of all survey activities and findings.
Skills and Competencies:
- Should possess strong technical skills in land and marine surveying, knowledge of industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Civil 3D, etc.), bathymetric survey equipment/tools and experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
- Staying up to date with latest surveying techniques (3D scanning...)
- Adaptable to changing project needs and challenges, including weather conditions, site obstacles, and equipment issues.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Good communication skills to discuss and agree on the needs of the project with the project teams.
- Excellent time management skills for handling multiple surveys and meeting project deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in surveying or geomatics, ideally with 5-7 years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, preferably with a Tier 1 construction company.
- Middle East experience is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Land Surveyor License is a must
- Certification from recognized surveying organizations (e.g., National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES)) preferred.
