Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that the lifting equipment / gears in use are validated and with current color coded.
- Proactive co-ordination with the requestor for all rigging needs
- Assist Fabrication supervisor in developing project risk analysis for rigging related activities
- Coordinate with vessel supervisor for rigging plan / operation in order to formalize the optimum utilization of equipment and resources.
- Develop / review lifting operation plan
- Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading for rigging section
- Co-ordination of work progress with Project Manager, Owner’s representatives, Other trades and within the department.
- Develop / review manpower request and target report prepared by foreman
- Provide work done reports and descriptions to vessel supervisor.
- Proactive participation in identifying errors and effective reporting through NCIR system
- Train, motivate, appraise and provide feedback on training requirements to uplift the skill of subordinates
- Attend any training for any activity required by the department.
Qualification/Experiences & Skills
- Familiar with lifting equipment’s and SWL (safe working load).
- Able to do rigging calculation.
- Possess knowledge of MS office and Project Management skills
- Thorough knowledge in various types of steel works and steel structures erection/lifting procedure
- Should be conversant with applicable safe rigging and lifting practices.
- Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard.
- Diploma in engineering or equivalent
- Familiarity with rigging/lifting operation with at least 5 years of experience as Foreman or Lead position.
