Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Storekeeper in Abu Dhabi, UAE who assist the Expediter Shops & Stores to provide effective inventory and distribution management and services in accordance with the client’s requirements.
The ideal candidate should have adaptability including teamwork, flexibility needed to fulfill job responsibilities, adapting to changes in work environment and accepting supervisory feedback.
The hiring for this role is subject to contract award.
Key Accountabilities
- Receive, identify and locate stock within the stores area;
- Record any stock movements on the inventory management system to ensure accuracy of stock levels at all times;
- Collect goods from local suppliers when required and emergency reasons indicated;
- Perform stock audits and co-ordinate stock checks;
- General housekeeping of the stores area;
- Participate in keeping all work areas clean, safe and tidy for smoothing all logistics and inventory processes in a controlled, safe, efficient and appropriate manner;
- Operate forklift (3 tonne to 10 tonne), various types of trucks and other lifting and MHE equipment;
- Load and unload goods at the warehouse for material receipts and issues;
- Handle chemicals and inflammable materials (Dangerous Goods);
- Packing & unpacking of materials as and when required.
- Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Warehouse Team leader and/or Logistics Manager
Specific Requirements
- Experience in a warehouse or similar area preferred;
- Well organized and focused on customer service and service delivery;
- Required to maintain inventory/electronic tracking/knowledge of computers;
- Ability to meet physical requirements including long periods of standing, walking throughout large scale site and work in warehouse environment.
- Ideally holds a UAE forklift and heavy duty license;
- Ideally a holder of a valid UAE driving license (for both manual and automatic gear) with good driving skills and experience
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
