Summary
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will work on our next generation ordering platform to create a smooth and easy ordering experience for our customers. If you're a creative problem solver who is hungry for a new adventure, an international workplace is waiting for you.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire talented engineers and create an environment where a cross-functional, self-organized team can thrive, working in an agile software development environment to discover innovate, implement, deploy and own end-to-end complex software solutions
• Develop and grow engineering talent through effective mentoring, coaching, and retention strategies in a hyper-growing, highly competitive economic environment
• Guide your team in creation of software as an end to end solution to a problem, taking into account non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of talabat’s services in line with our internal engineering standards.
• Guide your team’s discovery, planning and execution to successfully deliver value to our customers in small batches
•  Understand and lead your business domain and work with product as well as the business stakeholders to drive desired outcomes on the team and domain level.
• Contribute to the wider tech organization by leading strategic initiatives

•  8+ years of experience in software engineering
•  4+ years of hands-on technical leadership, people management experience
•  Experience building & leading cross-functional, empowered and self-organized teams of multidisciplinary engineers
• Align with other teams on initiative scope, domain and boundaries
•  Analyze and identify possible initiative delays and ensure appropriate communication with team stakeholders
• Successfully transfer knowledge through teaching, mentoring and coaching
•  Drive for clarity to ensure that the right customer/business problem is addressed
•  Solid experience building large-scale applications using modern programming languages (e.g. C#, Java, Go, etc.).
• Wide experience in different technology stacks, tools, and practices such as DevOps.
•  Solid experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and scaling of web apps and APIs
• Experience building iOS and Android mobile apps
• Experience working with agile practices and good understanding of lean/agile   values & principles
•  Experience in unit-testing, TDD, BDD/ATDD
•  Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
•  Solid experience of building applications in distributed systems architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, SOA and RESTful Services)
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDb).
•  Experience with CI/CD tools and techniques
•  Ensures quality, performance, monitoring, alerting and security using best practices
