Black & Grey HR is
recruiting for a renowned university in the UAE. We are seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant to handle essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance
with university policies and financial reporting standards.
- Perform ledger/fund maintenance, cost
analysis, fund reconciliation, posting, and fiscal control of inventory.
- Prepare financial reports from standard
operating statistics and financial data.
- Monitor departmental/unit revenue and
expenses, ensuring expenditure control and compliance with university policies
and funding requirements.
- Create and maintain spreadsheet applications
for financial data input, perform calculations such as interest and
depreciation, and generate financial reports.
- Coordinate preparation of routine and special
billings, cost reports, inventories, financial statements, and analyses for
local, state, federal, and private funding sources.
- Review and approve expenditure, personnel,
and purchasing documents for funding availability, accuracy, and compliance
with university and federal regulations.
- Analyse, reconcile, balance, and maintain
accounting records, including preparing budget, revenue, expense, payroll, and
related entries.
- Conduct bank reconciliation and assist in
audits, preparing audit work papers as needed.
- Supervise and train lower-graded staff,
ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance to departmental staff on
finance policies, procedures, and funding requirements.
- Monitor data processing batches, cash counts,
and balancing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
related field.
- 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience,
preferably within a university or educational institution.
- Strong knowledge of university financial
policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in account balancing,
reconciling, and maintaining financial accounts.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting
principles, methods, and applications.
- Ability to interpret financial data, prepare
financial reports, and perform financial projections.
- Experience in budgeting, cost control, and
computerized financial systems.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial
software for preparing reports and projections.
- Strong communication skills, both written and
verbal.
