The role:

STARZPLAY seeks a dedicated and strategic Sports Planning Manager to join our Content & Acquisitions Department. As a Sports Planning Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the sports content portfolio, managing sports programming strategies, and optimizing the viewer experience. Your role will involve sports content acquisition, performance analysis, and planning to enhance our sports content distribution efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Sports Content Acquisition:

• Identify and research potential sports content providers, leagues, and opportunities for content acquisition.
• Negotiate and secure content acquisition agreements with sports partners.

1. Sports Content Curation and Management:

• Curate and manage the sports content portfolio, ensuring it aligns with audience preferences and sports viewership trends.
• Monitor the quality and performance of sports content, making decisions regarding additions, removals, or updates.

1. Sports Programming Strategy:

• Develop and execute sports programming strategies that maximize sports content viewership and audience engagement.
• Collaborate with technical teams to schedule and deliver sports content effectively.

1. Performance Analysis and Optimization:

• Analyze sports content performance, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), viewership data, and audience engagement.
• Utilize data insights to optimize sports content placement and recommendations.

1. Sports Partnerships:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with sports content providers, ensuring the fulfillment of contractual agreements and obligations.
• Address partnership-related issues and negotiate contract terms as needed.

1. Sports Marketing and Promotion:

• Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional strategies and campaigns that enhance sports content viewership and engagement.
• Support sports content partners in their marketing efforts related to our platform.

1. Budget Management:

• Manage the sports content operations budget, including negotiating costs, monitoring expenses, and resource allocation.
• Ensure efficient and cost-effective sports content delivery.

1. Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all sports content complies with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Address any compliance-related issues promptly and proactively.

1. Reporting and Documentation:

• Create and maintain reports on sports content acquisition, portfolio performance, and operational agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of all sports content-related documentation and agreements.

Qualifications:          

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sports content management, programming, or a related role.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, particularly in the sports content industry.
• Proficiency in data analysis, performance tracking, and sports content management tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to adapt to changing sports programming trends.
• Up-to-date knowledge of sports content acquisition best practices and industry trends.
