Job Description

About the Company

•  We are the largest oil producer within the ADNOC Group, accounting for over half of ADNOC’s total oil production. As the country’s oldest oil production company, our operations date back to 1939, when a 75-year concession was signed to explore for oil and gas in Abu Dhabi. As a global industry leader in environmental sustainability, we are the first in the world to capture carbon from the iron and steel industry.  Our Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) facility at Al Reyadah has the capacity to capture 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) from Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) each year, for use in the Bab and Rumaitha oil fields to support Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Al Reyadah is, therefore, a critical enabler of ADNOC’s 2030 sustainability goals.

About the Job

• Responsible for conducting and running Simulation studies on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)/Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) projects ranging from CO2 flood to low salinity water flood. Identifying and evaluating EOR/IOR target and support the team in the successful implementation of EOR/IOR techniques.

• Conducts Reservoir characterization, rock typing, SCAL, reservoir property upscaling, describing fluid properties variation in coordination with Petrophysics discipline experts and SCAL, PVT and other subject matter specialists.

• Carries out appropriate standard and specialized core flood and SCAL studies to describe multiphase flow and fluid displacement efficient characteristics in coordination with SCAL Specialist.

• Conducts Reservoir fluid sampling and appropriate standard or specialized PVT studies to describe fluid properties and its variation, in coordination with PVT Specialist.

• Assures proper software and resources are used in developing and tuning Equation of State (EOS) models for compositional simulation, in coordination with EOR and PVT Specialists

• Applies the most appropriate reservoir modelling, simulation, and visualization techniques in all areas related to reservoir simulation.

• Applies consistent procedures for validating simulation results, selection and application of appropriate simulation models as dictated by the problem.
• Promotes effective integration of key aspects of reservoir engineering in the development of compositional models for EOR/IOR pilots in conducting reservoir studies and dynamic modelling in accordance with related technical Working System standards and guidelines.
