About the Job

• Act as Technical Authority for the company's process and safety engineering activities.
• He will carry out process calculations, simulations, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams and specifications in agreement with the process standards and the applicable norms will review and comment on documents from licensors and vendors to select the best technology providers and equipment suppliers will interact with the other engineering disciplines as necessary to prepare the process deliverables will contribute as requested, capitalizing on experience, to the development/preparation of standardized tools and procedures,
• Conduct technical evaluation and follow-up on the execution of the engineering project in Al Yasat Petroleum within agreed technical and quality standards to achieve the company's strategic objectives.
• Monitor and control the AYP's engineering performance concerning optimum process design, energy conservation, optimum chemical utilization, and product specification to achieve the best cost-effective results. Recommend corrective actions and modifications required to deal with process abnormalities, de-bottlenecking and optimization of operating conditions and processes.
• Conduct analysis and troubleshooting, assist projects and operations personnel in diagnosing process problems, and prepare technical specifications as necessary.

Key Accountabilities

Health. Safety. Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

•   Ensuring adherence to relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems, controls, applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines. The approach is aligned with international standards, best practices, and the ADNOC Code of Practice.
• Oversee the formulation and execution of environmental protection and energy conservation initiatives plans. Collaborate with the HSE Department to ensure adherence to legal regulations, ADNOC policies, and shareholders' directives while prioritizing and monitoring project progress. The process of conducting an inspection and performing a root-cause investigation.

Technical Expertise

• Prepare and review the basis of the design, undertake detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations
• Carry out process simulation using HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet and Pipesim etc. and prepare heat and material balance
• Carryout equipment sizing, line sizing, pump hydraulics, safety relief calculations and produce process calculation report
•  Carry out dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
• Carryout depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design
• Ensuring that the design is carried out as per the industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system
• Participate in PHA, HAZOP and other safety reviews 
• Assimilating the evolution of new products and technology and updating oneself on the latest international standards in terms of engineering design practices and their applications
• Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems and assist Project and client teams in decision making
• As Senior Discipline Engineer, when assigned to projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers and designers and delivering the engineering requirements of the project
• Support on tender or proposal, as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work
• Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Process engineering design
• Provide process engineering expertise to review and approve key documents/deliverables pertaining to different projects, including philosophies, policies, strategies, SOR, SOW, Basis of Design, etc., covering all VAP life cycle stages.
• Company. Negotiate any conflict on process issues arising the Company and with contractors.
• Create and manage process decision support models for all the existing Facilities & Production Networks, which allow controlled & authoritative decision-making.
• Review critical technical documents produced by FEED and EPC contractors and undertake relevant engineering assessments or studies to substantiate contractor design as required.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise and coordinate  all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective department objectives.
•  Provide input for the preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver department objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Implement approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support the execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards. Performance Management e Contribute to achieving the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational
• processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare Department MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent
• Proficient in Process Simulation software such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA etc. of steady state, dynamic software
• Has worked on a range of studies across different markets and understands the tools used and levels of detail required to support the early phase decision-making process.
• Has relevant experience in Feasibility / Conceptual Study, FEED, EPC, Commissioning and/or Operations.
• Work experience in major offshore brownfield projects is an added advantage.
• Extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and materials and applications of computers 2-D and 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) to engineering problems.
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with applicable Local and International Codes and Standards for Oil and Gas Industry.
