Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Provides Specialist support, guidelines, and directions to all assets on potential areas on data integration and geological model development. Defines and updates workflows, methodologies, and procedures in alignment with industry best practice.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
- Defines standards for data integration and geological model development across ADNOC Offshore Asset Teams.
- Supports assets in determining opportunities to develop studies to assist with Geomodelling and subsurface integration.
- Identifies challenges across all assets and implements new technologies and workflows.
- Builds 3D geological models incorporating reservoir rock typing, structural, seismic, SCAL data and performances uncertainty analyses.
- Evaluates geological uncertainties in the subsurface and supports reservoir engineers in simulation studies. Initiates and follows up closely on all geology related studies in new reservoirs carried out by consultants or shareholders in assigned field/concession area.
- Develops and participates in geological reservoir studies aimed at constructing and/or improving geological models. Includes coordinating and defining coring, logging, and testing requirements.
- Coordinates and checks the preparation of geological requirements and geological predictions of appraisal and development wells.
- Coordinates and participates in the preparation of reservoir appraisal sheets. Includes reviewing and evaluating test results.
- Participates in the definition of contracted special field-testing related to reservoir geology. Includes defining scope of special test required, preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and recommending final award and contract features as assigned. Ensures contractors’ compliance with contract terms and schedules and monitors progress and performance through regular activity reports.
- Conducts studies and produces accurate data for appraisal and field development. Accountable for providing sedimentology and rock typing expertise to assigned Team aiming at discovery/development of new reserves as the primary objectives.

- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

- Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices
Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Frequent contacts with other Subsurface and Development employees at own or slightly higher level to advice on related activities, to integrate geological, sedimentological and reservoir rock type’s data analysis results with work of other teams/team members.
- Daily contacts with peers, discipline manager and VP-TC(SS&DM).
- Frequent contacts with assets’ peers and technical/management teams within other divisions in ADNOC Offshore.
External
- Regular contacts with ADNOC, International Shareholders and Group companies.
- Regular contacts with key external technology providers as required by the business.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors’ Degree in Geology/Geological science or equivalent, Master is preferable.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 12 years in Petro-Technical discipline (Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience), of which 7 years in a Geomodeller.
- Knowledge in new technologies and in R& D projects.
