JOB PURPOSE:
Build high quality static reservoir models, integrating all available core, log, seismic, production, engineering, and other data, as input for dynamic reservoir modeling and field development planning. Provide inputs for well planning and optimal well placement for short- and long-term field development. Ensure that all geological inputs and models are captured in reservoir simulations and engineering designs. Contribute to best practices within subsurface team for analysis, interpretation, and modelling.
Quality Control & review of generated models by other peers. Provide required coaching / mentoring support to other subsurface and operations staff in the team to ensure recognized competence in the team to permit delegation and supervision of the wider team modelling effort.
JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Participate and contribute to the development and refinement of the vision and long-term strategy for the Company, and contribute to the overall process of corporate governance, management and corporate decision making to ensure the organization maximizes returns to its shareholders.
Integrate all available G&G and reservoir engineering data (including well test, PVT fluids analysis, SCAL and routine core analysis data), and carry out reservoir geomodelling studies using appropriate software (e.g., Petrel) to produce representative and reliable reservoir static models.
Assist in field development planning, monitoring, and forecasting by utilizing available reservoir models.
Identify and manage key sub surface uncertainties.
Evaluate in-place hydrocarbon volumes based on reservoir models to accurately and reliably represent the remaining ultimate in-place reserves.
Carry out uncertainty analyses and provide sensitivities for integration into the volumetrics and simulation exercise.
Provide key mentoring/training to junior staff on geomodelling workflow and work tasks, and in taking lead for building multiple static models by the team (Full-field, sector etc.)
Update reservoir models with results of drilling activities to optimize well placement for appraisal and development wells.
Interactively provide the reservoir engineering team with upscaled reservoir grids (surfaces, faults, properties etc.) for integration into the dynamic simulation models.
Assist the Geological Operations Team with well planning/ well placement support (using available static models) and for post-drill evaluation of well results.
Provide geological inputs for Delineation, Development, Appraisal & Workover well prognosis (If required)
Communication of study results (Peer reviews, presentations, and reports) to team members, senior management, and shareholders, as required.
