As a Specialist/Consultant Surgical Oncologist, your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing various forms of cancer, developing and implementing comprehensive surgical treatment plans, and performing complex surgical procedures. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive holistic and tailored care throughout their treatment journey.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations, including physical examinations and diagnostic assessments of cancer patients
- Design and administer individualized surgical treatment plans based on patient needs and cancer types
- Perform complex oncological surgeries with precision and adherence to best practices
- Provide ongoing patient management preoperatively and postoperatively, ensuring optimal recovery
- Collaborate with medical and radiation oncologists, nurses, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care
- Engage in discussions with patients and their families to explain surgical options, risks, and expected outcomes
- Participate in clinical research and stay informed about advancements in surgical oncology
- Educate and mentor medical staff, residents, and fellows in surgical oncology practices
