About the job SP3D ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking an experienced SP3D Administrator to join our team in an Oil & Gas EPC environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SP3D (SmartPlant 3D) and experience in supporting and maintaining the SP3D design environment for major oil, gas, and petrochemical projects. The SP3D Administrator will be responsible for managing the SP3D environment, providing user support, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing workflows.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Administer, configure, and maintain the SP3D system environment to support project design teams.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues related to the SP3D environment.
  • Perform regular backups and system updates to ensure optimal performance and data security.
  • Provide technical support to SP3D users, including engineers, designers, and drafters, to troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and deliver user training sessions for SP3D best practices and new features.
  • Create and update user manuals, guidelines, and procedures to ensure smooth operation.
  • Customize SP3D tools and templates to meet specific project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain catalogs, specifications, and libraries within SP3D to support ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement project-specific configurations and workflows.
  • Work closely with other disciplines (such as piping, electrical, structural) to ensure seamless integration of SP3D with other engineering tools and systems.
  • Support data exchange between SP3D and other design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Participate in project coordination meetings to resolve any technical issues related to SP3D modeling.
    • Ensure data integrity by managing SP3D data exchange, ensuring accurate model data and design documentation.
    • Perform audits and checks to ensure the quality and consistency of SP3D models across various project stages.
    • Maintain and manage SP3D workspaces and project data to ensure compliance with client requirements.
    • Evaluate and implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to improve performance and user experience.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integration and communication between SP3D and other project tools.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SP3D in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or EPC industry.
    • Proven experience in system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of SP3D.
    • Experience in managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects with SP3D integration.
    • In-depth knowledge of SP3D software, including setup, customization, and data management.
    • Experience with other design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, and Smart Plant Review is a plus.
    • Familiarity with databases and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) to enhance SP3D functionality.
    • Understanding of design processes and workflows within the Oil & Gas industry.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with project teams and clients.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and system improvements.
