JOB TITLE: Social Media Designer
LOCATION: Abu Dhabi (Hybrid)

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a Social Media Designer who will be responsible for conceptualising and creating compelling visuals for our social media content calendars. This includes designing static images, editing short videos, and crafting simple animations that captivate our audience. The ideal candidate will be a rockstar designer with a strong portfolio showcasing social media-specific work, animation, and video editing capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Design & Production:
- Create eye-catching designs, graphics, and layouts for various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Develop simple animations (e.g., GIFs, motion graphics) that enhance social posts and brand storytelling.
- Edit and produce short-form videos optimised for social media formats and platform specifications.
Creative Conceptualisation:
- Collaborate with social media team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts for social media calendars, campaigns and new business pitches.
- Translate brand guidelines and campaign briefs into visually appealing assets that resonate with target audiences.
Brand Consistency & Innovation:
- Maintain brand consistency across all social media visuals while still pushing creative boundaries to stand out in a crowded feed.
- Stay updated on design trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure our social media content remains innovative and engaging.
Content Calendar Collaboration:
- Work closely with the social media and content teams to plan and schedule content, ensuring timely delivery of all creative assets.
- Adapt designs for a variety of outputs and platforms, ensuring each piece is optimised for the specific platform and audience.
Asset Management & Organisation:
- Maintain organised files, manage version control, and create easy-to-navigate digital asset libraries for the team.
- Ensure all graphics and videos adhere to copyright regulations and licensing requirements.
Performance Monitoring & Optimisation:
- Collaborate with the social media team to review performance metrics and user engagement.
- Refine future designs based on performance insights and feedback.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in designing social media graphics and video content for brands or agencies.
Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with other design platforms (e.g., Canva, Figma, CapCut) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of video editing software to produce high-quality social media clips, reels, and stories.
- Experience with motion graphics, GIF creation, and simple 2D animations.
Creative & Conceptual Skills:
- Strong portfolio showcasing social-media-specific design work, video edits, and animations.
- Good eye for typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to take creative briefs and translate them into unique, on-brand designs.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proactive attitude, self-motivation, and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving trends.
