Job Purpose:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for managing and supervising MEP-related activities for multiple simultaneous MEP construction projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to project specifications, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, overseeing site operations, and delivering cost-effective and efficient MEP solutions while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage MEP projects, ensuring timely execution, cost efficiency, and compliance with project specifications.
- Review project specifications, IFC drawings, and raise RFIs for clarifications.
- Coordinate with the design team for preparation and approval of MEP drawings and calculations, including ESP, pump head, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and heat load calculations.
- Prepare and submit material submittals in compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Supervise and guide the workforce and subcontractors to ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and timelines.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including civil, architectural, consultant, and client teams, to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to approved designs, specifications, and safety standards, and raise inspections for consultant approval.
- Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and manage snagging activities for project handover.
- Provide regular updates to the MEP Division In-Charge on progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Raise material requisition and ensure the team is supplied with adequate materials.
- Attend weekly progress meetings with consultants, clients, and the main contractor to update progress and comply with project requirements.
- Facilitate authority inspections (e.g., DEWA, DCD, SIRA) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support testing and commissioning (T&C) processes, providing technical insights and resolving issues.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of project-related materials in coordination with the document controller.
Education Qualification, Work Experience & Skills
- DM-approved Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 5-8 years of experience as an MEP Engineer in the UAE, preferably with a valid UAE driving license.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and construction-related software.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a focus on deadlines and quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Proactive and organized approach to project documentation and team management.
