Your Opportunity  


We are looking for a Site Engineer who will Deliver work safely on-site by ensuring compliance to Occupational Work Health and Safety standards and field requirements, Provide technical expertise and ensure resolution of complex Corrective and Responsive tasks for Base Operations and ccountable to ensure that all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) , Responsive Maintenance (RM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Minor New Work (MNW) and Projects works are delivered in time.


This role is part of the Operations team and will be based in our MELABS Contract in Dubai.  


Key Accountabilities 


  • Leadership and supervision of all Serco Base Operations staffs and subcontractors.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of scheduled maintenance plans in accordance with the original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
  • (SOPs) for all Base Operations services.


  • Assist in the management of the work quality and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
  • systems supporting the delivery of the Base Operations services.


  • Conduct periodic reviews of the SOPs to ensure their currency and efficacy quarterly.
  • Support the project Manager and have responsibility for ensuring the projects team deliver the projects within budget, time, quality and with zero harm.
  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinates register assets in the asset register and accurate records of all services are performed on the asset.
  • Updated asset register should be accurate at all times and available for audits and for contract change proposals (CCP).
  • Assist with managing the scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance Activities (raised through reactive Work Orders), in accordance with the contractual agreements between SERCO MELABS and Australian Defence Force (ADF) recorded through Contract Work Breakdown Dictionary (CWBD).

Specific Requirements


  • Ideally a degree holder in in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma 3 years
  • Someone who embraces diversity, fosters equity, respect and belonging in our workplace  
  • Must have as a minimum, Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate IV, or suitable equivalent, in an Air Conditioning/Refrigeration trade.
  • A minimum of 10 years, of Mechanical/HVAC engineering maintenance management experience.
  • Should have 7 years’ experience working in Military base or prison facility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Sound analytical reasoning ability and capable of making decisions on complex matters.
  • Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organisation and with the client.
