Job Description
The Settlements & Custody Manager will be responsible for managing and executing settlement operations for our crypto exchange and OTC desk. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial settlements, reconciliation processes, particularly within the cryptocurrency space, and experience with digital asset custody solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Settlement Operations:
Execute daily settlement processes for crypto and fiat transactions. Perform daily reconciliations of transactions between internal systems, blockchain records, and external counterparties. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Coordinate with trading, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth settlement flows.
Custody Management:
Oversee digital asset custody operations, including the management of hot and cold wallets. Liaise with third-party custodians to ensure asset security and compliance. Implement best practices for safeguarding digital assets.
OTC Desk Support:
Facilitate large block trades by ensuring timely and accurate settlements. Collaborate with OTC traders to manage counterparty risk and exposure. Maintain strong relationships with liquidity providers and counterparties.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure all settlement and reconciliation activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies. Prepare regular reports on settlement status, discrepancies, reconciliation outcomes, and resolution efforts. Assist in audits and regulatory inquiries related to settlement and reconciliation operations.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for optimization within settlement and reconciliation workflows. Implement automation tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in settlement operations and reconciliation within financial services, preferably in cryptocurrency or blockchain. Proven experience with digital asset custody solutions and wallet management. Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets, and OTC trading mechanisms. Proficient in using settlement and reconciliation software tools. Demonstrated expertise in transaction reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, and resolution. Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to crypto asset custody, settlements, and reconciliations is a plus.
