About the job SENIOR STRUCTUAL ENGINEER
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team for the ADNOC Onshore Project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing structural engineering activities, ensuring the safety, quality, and integrity of structures on the project. This role requires expertise in the design, analysis, and review of structural systems for onshore oil and gas facilities, including buildings, platforms, and related infrastructure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the structural design and analysis of onshore oil and gas facilities, including process plants, equipment foundations, pipe supports, and access platforms.
- Ensure designs are in compliance with international and ADNOC standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes, etc.).
- Perform detailed calculations and simulations for structural stability, load-bearing capacity, and safety.
- Manage and oversee the delivery of structural engineering tasks within the ADNOC onshore project timeline, scope, and budget.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to integrate structural designs with other systems.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and material specifications.
- Conduct structural reviews, inspections, and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise during project construction phases to resolve any structural issues.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior and intermediate structural engineers, providing guidance and support on technical matters.
- Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and design optimization studies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, innovations, and best practices in structural engineering.
- Prepare and present technical reports, including design summaries, structural assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and approvals.
- Contribute to the preparation of tender documents and technical proposals.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline. A Masters degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in oil and gas onshore projects.
- Experience with ADNOC or similar onshore oil and gas projects is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in structural design, analysis, and project execution.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000).
- Strong knowledge of structural materials, construction techniques, and industry codes (e.g., ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes).
- Familiarity with structural analysis, finite element modeling, and geotechnical considerations.
- Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng, PE) or equivalent is preferred.
- ADNOC certification or approval for structural engineering roles would be advantageous.
- Experience in the design and construction of large-scale oil and gas facilities, including process plants, storage tanks, and offshore/onshore platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of seismic analysis and structural integrity assessments for onshore environments.
- Previous experience working in the Middle East region, specifically with ADNOC projects, would be a significant advantage.
