Senior Stockman (Dairy)- Farm

Apt Resources is looking for a highly experienced Senior Stockman (Dairy) to manage and care for our dairy livestock while overseeing the daily operations of a thriving dairy farm. As Senior Stockman, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and productivity of the herd, maintaining high standards in dairy production, and leading a team of farm staff.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of dairy farming, livestock management, and animal welfare practices, combined with strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Ensure all equipment and machinery related to dairy operations are well-maintained and functioning properly.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and facilities related to dairy operations.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of milking parlors, barns, and related facilities.

• Assist with milking operations and ensure proper hygiene standards are maintained.
• Monitor animal health and welfare, promptly reporting any issues to the veterinarian.
• Maintain accurate records of herd health, breeding, and milk production.
• Maintain detailed records of herd health, breeding schedules, milk production, and feed consumption.
• Prepare regular reports on herd performance, health, and farm productivity.
• Collaborate with farm staff to implement and improve farm management practices.
• Ensure strict compliance with farm safety and biosecurity protocols.
• Train and mentor junior staff in best practices for dairy management and livestock care.
