Job Description
Airport & LPOC and/or Aircraft Operations Inspection
- Plan day to day to implement oversight activities and to define guidelines for frequency of associated follow-up activities. Prepare and maintain oversight checklists in accordance with national requirements to ensure effective procedures. Prepare and conduct oversight inspection to ensure compliance with national requirements in accordance with the oversight inspection plan. Identify, categorise, record deficiencies, and recommend corrective action. Undertake evaluation of proposed corrective action plans for identified deficiencies. Verify rectification of identified deficiencies as per corrective action plan. Support investigations of aviation security violations, incidents, and occurrences. Collect, collate, and analyse data relevant to quality control activities.
- Review aviation security aspects with regard to issuance /renewal of Aircraft Operator Certification (AOC) as well as Aerodrome Certification (AC).
- Coordinate aviation security quality control activities to monitor the implementation of the security measures by airport and aircraft operators and other entities that perform security functions in compliance with the Civil Aviation Regulations and the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP).
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute and participate in the development implementation and maintenance of the National Civil Aviation Security Quality Control Programme (NCASQCP) to determine the level of compliance. Also, to validate the effectiveness of the Civil Aviation Regulations, National Civil Aviation Security, Programmes, and other national security schemes
- Contribute and participate in the review and development of National Civil Aviation Security Policy, Civil Aviation Regulations, National Civil Aviation Security Programmes, and other national security requirements to ensure compliance with ICAO Annex 17 Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Provide senior expertise, guidance, and information to colleagues pertaining the Inspection procedures.
Internal Surveillance Program & External Audits
- Implement corrective actions raised against the sectors under the internal surveillance programme to ascertain with international standards and continuous improvements.
- Support the administration of activities by external entities on request.
Document Management
- Maintain records of relevant reports, certifications, and general correspondence to ensure proper document management.
Reporting
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Preferably a degree from a University/College or professional qualification in aviation security or a relevant function with 5 years’ experience in aviation security
