We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer
to lead and execute advanced process design and optimization for our projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of process engineering principles and have extensive experience in industrial systems, with a focus on improving operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As a senior team member, you will guide junior engineers, provide strategic technical leadership, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality process solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of complex process systems, ensuring they meet both operational and regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications for new and existing systems.
- Conduct mass and energy balance calculations, process simulations, and evaluate alternative solutions for improving process efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation of process documentation, including technical reports, design reviews, and performance assessments.
- Lead process engineering efforts in both ongoing and new projects, from conceptual design through commissioning, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding process-related matters.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support the development of less experienced team members.
- Mentor and train process engineers on technical methodologies, best practices, and company standards.
- Identify process inefficiencies, system bottlenecks, and safety risks, and lead efforts to develop and implement solutions to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for process-related issues across the lifecycle of projects, from design through to operation and maintenance.
- Propose, evaluate, and implement process improvements based on ongoing analysis and operational feedback.
- Ensure all designs and operational procedures comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal safety protocols.
- Actively contribute to process hazard analysis (PHA), risk assessments, and safety reviews.
- Monitor and assess process performance to maintain safe operating conditions and optimize plant performance.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and project management teams, to ensure process integration and project success.
- Present and communicate complex technical findings and design strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead or participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and client interactions.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives by staying current with the latest process technologies and industry trends.
- Recommend and implement new technologies, process solutions, and engineering tools to enhance performance and efficiency.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Masters degree or higher in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in process engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, or energy.
- Significant experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or equivalent) and process design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, P&ID software).
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards, engineering codes (e.g., ASME, API, ISO), and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, managing project deliverables, and interfacing with clients.
- Expertise in process engineering principles, system design, and project execution.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth understanding of process safety, equipment sizing, and operational troubleshooting.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Certification in process safety or project management is an advantage.
