SENIOR PROCESS DESIGNER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As Senior Process Designer position you will provide advanced technical expertise in the design and development of process systems within the oil and gas industry. You role is critical in ensuring that process design projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, adhering to client specifications and industry regulations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to project planning, and mentor junior designers, playing a key role in delivering innovative and effective process solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and review process design documents, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment layouts.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
• Conduct process simulations and analyses to optimize design performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and instrumentation engineers to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members.
• Perform design reviews, safety checks, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Prepare and present design proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be available to join immediately.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in process design within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience in developing and reviewing detailed process design documents.
• Proficiency in process design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID, Aspen HYSYS).
• Experience with process safety and hazard analysis (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA).
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., PDMS, SP3D).
• Professional certification or licensure (e.g., P.Eng, PE).
• Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
