A successful candidate must have amaster’s degree or equivalent experience and exposureinto power systems. You should have experience with studies tools like PSSE, DigSILENT orRTDS and, have expertise knowledge in design verification studies like dynamic power system performance analysis, stability studies, and Grid interconnection studies for renewable power plants. As a Senior Power System Studies Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
Serve as technical lead and actively participate in complex project conceptual and detail design, execution, development, and support activities crossing multiple projects.
Conducting dynamic simulations to analyze the stability and performance of power systems under various operating conditions.
Evaluating the impact of disturbances and developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
Assessing the feasibility and impact of connecting new generation sources (e.g., renewable energy) to the existing grid.
Coordinating with other stakeholders to facilitate smooth interconnections.
Designing HIL setups to test and validate control systems and protection schemes in a simulated environment.
Analyzing test results to identify and resolve potential issues before deployment in the field.
Staying updated with the latest advancements in power system technologies and methodologies.
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Mentor and develop professional staff. May supervise as necessary.
Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Can demonstrated knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration or automation and communications applications
Can demonstrated knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology and protective relay applications
Are willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
