AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer with expertise in managing and planning large-scale building, mixed-use developments, and villa construction projects. This role involves overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in site operations and be based in the UAE.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for building, mixed-use developments, and villa projects, using industry-standard planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Lead the planning efforts for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring optimal use of resources, effective time management, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and milestones.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting potential risks and delays, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, and coordinate with teams to prevent delays and bottlenecks.
  • Review and assess design changes, ensuring that any modifications are incorporated into the project schedule.
  • Manage the project’s critical path and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and avoid delays.
  • Conduct risk analysis for the project and develop strategies for timely resolution of any issues that could impact the schedule.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planning engineers and other team members.
  • Liaise with various internal and external teams to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise on site.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, health and safety standards, and AtkinsRéalis quality procedures.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, including schedule updates and any changes to the project timeline.
  • Maintain project budgets, identifying any discrepancies and advising the team on corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling engineering for building, mixed-use, and villa projects.
  • Must be currently based in the UAE.
  • Proven expertise in site operations and managing the planning phase of large-scale construction projects.
  • In-depth experience with Primavera P6 and MS Project, along with a strong understanding of project management tools and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project lifecycles, and UAE regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify risks early and propose practical solutions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic (spoken and written) and English is required.

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience in the management of large residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
  • Familiarity with the latest planning and scheduling methodologies.
  • PMP or similar project management certifications are advantageous.
