Job Description
Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for implementation of the Project Planning & Scheduling System; preparation, maintenance & updating of Project Schedules, and ensuring Actual Progress & forecast reliability.
Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible for defining Project objectives in terms of duration and resources.
Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer is responsible to pilot the Project status and to ensure the forecast reliability.
Reporting lines and interactions:
Hierarchically reports to: Planning Department HoD
Operationally reports to : Project Manager
Directly Supervises : Planning Engineers
Key interactions (internally, externally): Planning and Project team members, Proposal team members, Client, Partners, Vendors and Subcontractors.
Profile:
Must have:
- Engineering degree with 15 years’ experience in Project execution preferably in an Engineering / EPIC firm.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS office tools especially MS Excel.
- At least 12 years’ Experience in handling FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
- Knowledge in EPIC work processes.
Nice to have:
Certification in project management eg: PMP, AACE or equivalent
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
General:
- To develop a Schedule compliant with the selected execution strategy.
- To plan in order to mitigate risks and reduce costs.
- To define and optimize the necessary resources (E-P-C-I).
- To define the Planning & Scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc).
Proposal:
- To define for the Management, the Proposal Manager and the Estimation Department a Contract duration realistic and feasible for execution by Technip Energies.
Project:
- Responsible for the development, updating and maintenance of Project Planning & scheduling system (methods, procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc).
- Develop the project schedule in line with the execution strategy.
- Define, Update and Maintain the Planning & Scheduling system (procedures, time-schedules, physical progress, dashboards, etc)
- Define the Project breakdown structures.
- To identify the critical and sub-critical path and needed resources.
- Plan so as to ensure the work fronts at site.
- Plan in order to mitigate risks and reduce costs.
- Get Client approval of the Schedule Baseline, of progress claimed or milestones achieved in order to enable invoicing.
- Share and clearly communicate the Project Milestones, main durations and critical paths to the project team members.
- Effectively control the achievement of the milestones and intermediate steps, to monitor the status, to detect any delay and to propose corrective actions as and when necessary.
- Estimate the delay linked with changes and claims and to prepare the Extension of Time analysis, in case of delay due to Client.
- Develop a re-baseline schedule in case of deviations.
- Provide feedback and lessons learned in order to improve the Planning & Scheduling methods and provide input to the statistics of planning department.
- Operationally manage the Project Planning team or the Proposal Planning team if any.
- For the construction phase of the project, the Lead Planning and Scheduling Engineer will move to site if required and will secure the continuity of the planning system during the transfer of project activities from Home Office to site.
