Key Accountabilities:



To lead a multidiscipline engineering team for basic or detail design scope for marine and offshore projects.
To take leadership in developing detail technical specification based on brief client specification by liaising with
multidiscipline engineers.
Participating in design reviews and taking necessarily follow up actions.
Liaison with Classification Societies
Define project objectives by reviewing project contractual documents and plans, execution sequence of each
engineering activity.
Manage engineering / procurement interface by incorporating vendor data in the design.
Incorporate safety in design and participate in HAZID /HAZOP reviews.
Assist in submission of engineering status reports for weekly and monthly progress meetings.
Ensuring that engineering deliverables are issued according to Project Plan and within allocated man-hours budget.
Ensuring the timely receipt of client engineering details so as not to hamper smooth progress of engineering deliverables
and highlight the requirement of critical documents in advance.
Liaison with Client to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the section head.
Liaison with Classification Societies and obtain class approvals required.

Ensuring engineering work undertaken is in accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures and
Standards.
Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Broad knowledge of both hull and vessel operational systems in a shipyard.
Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental /
project objectives.
Project management skill is an added advantage.

Experience / Qualification & Skills:



Degree in Naval Architecture.
Proficient with software such as Ship design software, FEM software, product-modelling software.
12 - 15 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Minimum 10 years of experience as Lead Engineer/design lead in an Engineering Company / shipyard with New Building and
Conversion facilities.
